DeKalb County Jail

On my visit to the Dekalb County Jail, I have experienced some awful things. I do understand that the jail is to be nothing fancy, so that people won't want to come back but when you visit, the areas should be clean. The restroom in the lobby area as soon as you enter the building, is always filthy and stink. When we go up to the 6NE the visitor’s side the floors are always disgusting and so are the phones. After going through this with my baby I asked the person that I was visiting, how are their situations and they stated that the restroom or toilet that they use in the "commons area", or wherever they are when they can't be in their room is so bad that urine has been all over the floor so long that gnats and flies were all over everything and that its in the same area where their food and juice is placed. I feel that even though people do things that aren't right they are still human and that if they come in healthy then they should leave health. Gnats and flies carry germs and I would hate for our loved ones to get sick from being bite by a gnat that already bite and infected person prior, because a facility was to lazy to maintain the building.

then perhaps the inmates should not urinate on the floor.

Or even BETTER perhaps their cheap azzez hire a cleaning crew, after all they are paid federal money per person in custody and so the inmates really are paying for a clean environment.
